Comment on Drive-in Movies by Keithhttp://www.retroland.com/drive-in-movies/#comment-448875 Mon, 15 Feb 2016 18:58:03 +0000 http://www.retroland.com/?p=952#comment-448875 Some of my favorite movies of all time I saw for the very first time at our local drive-in theatre:

-Benji
-Dirty Mary, Crazy Larry
-Gus
-Smokey and the Bandit
-The Great Waldo Pepper

…to name a few.

It would in fact be interesting just to see how much today’s young generation would warm up to drive-in theatres if they were brought back to its golden age.

We would use them like a south american bolas. I got pretty good at throwing them but, never at another person.

What great memories. My cousin Jim & I would play this game for hours and hours and hours. We even created a league of teams and players and kept stats for all the games, by pencil and paper of course. The great thing about this game is you had to use your brain to enact your strategies. It also taught me quite a bit about offensive and defensive formations which was a tremendous benefit when I began organized football. I wish I had one of these today.

I remember loving that the cupboards and fridge opened so you could put the things on the table or put them away. I just loved those sets, and wish I could find one today.

Also remember the weather guy – what was that called? Mr. WEather? came with a raincoat and other apparel for the types of weather.

I am 59 years old – the products I remember from the early 60’s are so priceless.

They were flat and sticky. Individually wrapped. I used to get them in my bag while I was trick or treating… Late 90’s. I remember getting pink lemonade flavor and also green apple and cherry. Wow, nostalgia!
