1966 - Magic Baseball
Many coin-operated games in the 50s and 60s were devoted to America's pastime but none were cuter than Magic Baseball. Well, maybe cute isn't the right word to describe the epic battle between batter and ball but you see, there was a little doll in the cabinet, wearing a little baseball uniform, swinging a little bat. Adorable.

The cabinet itself was tall and backlit. The player controlled a jet of air that brought the ball into play in front of the doll and also controlled the swinging of the doll's bat. A dime bought you nine swings of the bat to try and hit the ball out of the park.

Out of the park in this case meant the rectangular slot on the back wall that was marked 'Home Run' and by ball, we mean a ping-pong ball. The game could be tricky but once you figured out at which exact height to float the ball, you could knock in a homer every single time. Magic Baseball was produced by Sheldon, Dickson and Steven Mfg. Co. in 1966 and became one of the most fun arcade games of the year.
