Who says going to bed has to be boring? Kids in the ‘50’s certainly weren’t going to put up with that. Their pajamas transformed them into superheroes, sports stars, or airplane pilots – all while tucked into bed.

Karmaloop LLC

Produced by Sears, these All-Stars pajamas were comfy costumes. The red-striped “Little Slugger” baseball uniform could turn you into Joe DiMaggio or Mickey Mantle, or if football was your game, the “All-American” football-patch sweatsuit would make you dream of touchdowns.

There were all sorts of pajamas to stir young imaginations. The “Jr. Space Commander” rocket ship pj’s would send you into space, the “Dreamland Express” train engineer outfit took you down the tracks, and the “Official Sgt. Bilko” jimmies came with sergeant chevrons and insignias. You could also be a cowboy with printed-on gun holsters, a “Bronco Riding Champ”, or a TWA pilot with wings and flight stickers. Then you could fly your TWA plane into bed, and away to sleep.
