MEMORIES:
Was it a jumper and shirt? Was it a sweater and shirt? Or was it a skirt and top? None of the above! It was the miraculous all-in-one dress!
In the ‘70’s, dressing was all about convenience and ease, but fashion demanded more than t-shirts and jeans. So, the all-in-one dress was born. It was really just one piece of clothing that you could alter into different “looks”. You could make it look like you were wearing a jumper, a sweater, or a skirt and top. Simple adjustments turned this one-piece into a few different cool outfits.

Similar styles introduced in that decade also made the all-in-one clothing list. The shirtdress was a simple long shirt that could be worn as a dress, or as a shirt under a jumper. The dickey was a fake turtleneck – piece of material that snapped around your neck and was long enough to tuck into a shirt or sweater, making it look like you had a complete shirt on underneath.
A trick to the eye – and a clever and comfortable clothing fad.
