MEMORIES:
Sometime in the ‘90’s, little-girl-chic became all the rage. Baby doll dresses, knee socks, and Mary Jane shoes showed up on adolescent girls who were years removed from their toddlerhood. Baby barrettes completed the look.
Shaped like flowers, animals, and rainbows, baby barrettes were cute clips that adorned the hair of not-so-little girls. ‘Do’s were done as pony tails and pig tails, and loose ends were tied back with the tiny barrettes. The barrettes could also be used on short styles like LIlith Fair founder Sarah McLachlan, or used to hold down twists of hairs with a little butterfly or daisy.

After the regressive phase ended, girls went back to adult-size barrettes – and little sisters could finally get their clips back.
