MEMORIES:
The baseball jersey has a message – you were part of a team. And no matter how good or bad you were at the game, you still belonged.
The boys of summer inspired a lasting fashion movement that started in the ‘70’s. The baseball jersey was a change from the traditional tee shirt. It featured a raglan sleeve that was attached to the shirt diagonally from the neckline. The sleeves also featured a different color than the rest of the shirt. The bottom hem was scooped up at the sides, rather than straight. They had traditional player-style numbers on the front, or iron-on patches, or popular ‘70’s wisdom like “Keep on Truckin’” or “Sit on It.” But they were always comfortable and cool and maintained their popularity – sans that ‘70’s wisdom – to this day.
