FANS:
MEMORIES:
A woman steps from the bath, pours a handful of lightly scented cologne into her palm, and refreshes herself by splashing it liberally all over herself. That’s Jean Nate.
Created in 1935 by Charles of the Ritz, Jean Nate bath products included talcum powder, soap, and deodorant. But it was the lemony bath splash that made the biggest splash in the market. Packaged in bright yellow containers, Jean Nate’s refreshing scent and high alcohol content invigorated the scenes and scented the skin.
Light cologne was all the rage in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s, and Jean Nate was at the top of the heap. Women could layer the scent using several different Jean Nate products. And it was popular with all the generations in the family – girls, moms, and grandmas were each seduced by the refreshing power of Jean Nate.
