Surely everyone remembers the flavored lip rage of the 80s - every kiss containing more than a hint of sugary (and artificially-flavored) deliciousness. Both addictive and seductive, teenage girls were swiping their lips at every opportunity, hoping to attract a stud with a sweet tooth through the arousing aromas of strawberry and cinnamon.

Maybelline unleashed Kissing Slicks in the late 70s as an easily-applied lip balm/gloss that was overflowing with seductive flavor, such as “Sinammon Sin” or “Wild Strawberry.” Complete with handy sponge-tipped applicator to ensure that flavor was spread evenly, these little yummy jars of gloss would hold the world over until the following decade, when Maybelline had perfected the roll-on technology that would accompany the next generation of lip treats, Kissing Potion.

But regardless of how you applied the flavor, the benefit was the same – sugary sweet lips sure to attract any member of the opposite sex with a sweet tooth.
