Maidenform, Inc.
With over 80 years on the undergarment landscape, Maidenform bras have enjoyed a colorful history and a longevity that shows no signs of dissipating anytime soon.

When designer Enid Frocks was making custom dresses in the early 20s, she sewed the bra into the dress itself. So comfortable were they that the public soon demanded the be offered separately and within a few years, the Maidenform Brassiere Company was formed to meet these ever-growing demands. Maidenform proceeded to do the unfathomable and dared to advertise their wares on billboards, busses, and window displays. While the public might have been shocked at first, it wasn’t enough to slow bra sales in the slightest.

By the 40s and still going strong, they created another innovative ad campaign that featured women in bras who acted out their fantasies in public places. Called the Dream Campaign, the ads were provocative and ahead of their time, just as the ads of decades past had been. The Dream Campaign would continue well into the 60s, now focusing on women who were finding their way into the workforce.

And to this day, the company, now known simply as Maidenform Inc. is still going strong and still offering innovative designs and marketing strategies that continue to attract attention almost a century after their introduction.
