When you are an uber-cool Hollywood celebrity, just about anything you choose to adorn your body with can become an instant fashion trend. And perhaps no other film star ever looked quite as cool as when Marlon Brando donned a leather motorcycle cap in the 1954 classic film, The Wild One.

Along with the motorcycle jackets, denim jeans and engineer boots, the leather short-brimmed caps topped off the look and were soon embraced by an entire generation of teenaged, street-tough hooligan wannabees that would mimic his fashion sense to a tee and become rebels in their own right. For the bopper to be, these iconic caps were an absolute necessity. And once again, the fashion industry owed a hearty hat’s off to their counterparts in Tinsel Town for creating yet another fashion trend that store shelves could barely keep stocked. Thanks, Marlon.
