One of the most successful sitcoms on TV, Friends gave viewers more than just weekly laughs. Friends character Rachel, played by the lovely Jennifer Aniston, gave the world the “Rachel” – a haircut that had hairdressers doing little else for quite a few TV seasons.
A modern, sleeker version of the 60’s shag cut worn by Jane Fonda and TV’s Carol Brady, the “Rachel” featured longer layers and bright highlights that framed the face. It was both stylish and casual, easy to maintain, yet comfortably sophisticated.
Of course, hair fashions change as regularly as TV lineups do, and the “Rachel” soon reached the end of it’s run. Friends would join it, but not for several seasons later.
