The t-shirt became a fashion staple in the 1970’s with a wide variety of styles to choose from – muscle tees, tank tops, jersey tees, and the ringer tee. Ringer tees featured a contrasting color trim on the neckline and sleeves, giving a splash of color to monochromatic tees.

 

Like all t-shirts, the ringer tee still was able to feature iron-on graphics and glitter decals, and the contrasting color trim gave the shirts a slightly hipper edge. Ringers went away in the 80’s as pastel colors hit the scene, but the 90’s saw a revival of 70’s fashion, and the cool ringer tee was back.
