Tretorn has been providing fashionable footwear for over a century, ever since a Danish entrepreneur named Henry Dunkard first saw the potential in marketing rubber galoshes to protect the feet from the elements, all the way back in the late 1800s. His foresight made him a millionaire at 24 and made Tretorn shoes a must have for hunters and outdoorsmen all over the world.

That wasn’t, however, all that was in store from the company. In 1964, Tretorn introduced a leather sports shoe, the Gullwing, which was both comfortable and fashionable. They would go on to become the footwear of choice for tennis players of the 70s, thanks to their sporty, understated elegance.
