Golden Grahams

Oh, those Golden Grahams, ridged little crunchy squares of cereal with a bit of honey and brown sugar to give them that heavenly graham cracker taste.

Brought to you by those masters of the breakfast cereal, General Mills, Golden Grahams had the remarkable ability to stay crunchy way longer than a Fruit Loop could ever hope for, presumably due to the little ridges that somehow must have repelled milk from them.

Or, maybe it was the salt. Golden Grahams, as it turns out, are one of the saltiest breakfast cereals available, with just one gram of salt less, per 100 grams, than an equal amount of seawater. But they don’t taste salty, they taste yummy. It’s one of those breakfast cereal mysteries that we may never truly understand.

Then again, who needs to understand breakfast cereal. Golden Grahams gave us everything we needed: just a touch of honey for that terrific graham cracker taste, and a texture, seemingly impervious to the softening power of dairy products. Good eats, those Golden Grahams.
