Release History:

1985 - Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation
1987 - The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland
With a pinch of Alice in Wonderland, a dash of The Wizard of Oz for good measure and a dump truck full of sugary sweetness, everyone’s favorite furry friends, the Care Bears, graced the screen yet again, in their third feature film, The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland.

Trouble presents itself in Wonderland when an evil wizard kidnaps the beloved princess. Coming to her rescue are the colorful and cuddly Grumpy, Tenderheart, Good Luck and their other fuzzy compatriots. Interspecies cousins such as Lots-A-Heart Elephant, Swift Heart Rabbit and Brave Heart Lion also pitch in with assistance and cuteness. But they will need the help of an iconic friend named Alice to help them navigate Wonderland.

When they find Alice, they discover that she has a few self-esteem issues. But, not to worry, a healthy dose of Care Bear goodness is just what the doctor ordered. Soon Alice enlists some other familiar faces, the Cheshire Cat and the Mad Hatter, and together they set out to bring the evil wizard to his knees with an onslaught of cuddly kindness as only the Care Bears can wield.

This 1987 film, The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland,  would be the last big screen appearance for the Care Bears (much to the delight of diabetics everywhere) but it certainly wasn’t the end of their illustrious and highly profitable career. There was still plenty of merchandising to be had, plenty of cartoons to be made, plenty of dolls and greeting cards and…you get the picture.
