Grand Canyon

The history of the Grand Canyon stretches from the beginning of time itself.  The natural wonder was host to countless inhabitants, from the tribes of the Anasazi to the Navajo, from the first tourists-- the conquistadors-- to the U.S. Army.  Even our modern tourists-- including the Bradys and the Griswolds-- have flocked to the great chasm, so even if you haven't seen its majestic beauty in person, it probably holds a special place in your heart.

With its scenic trails, guided tours, shopping villages, hotels and burrow rides to the Inner Gorge, the Grand Canyon could easily be considered America's first "theme park."  Over five-million people make their way to the canyon each year, by planes, trains and automobiles... not to mention by helicopter!  So naturally, countless postcards, movies, souvenirs, photo albums, slideshows (and subsequent naps) have been created in honor of the popular landmark.  Whether gawking at the enormous wonder from the rim, on a raft floating down the great Colorado River through the Gorge looking up, or watching an IMAX movie about the Big Ditch, the Grand Canyon's mighty presence will echo not only through our own culture, but through any culture to come.
