*** CATALINA ISLAND *** Been there, done that! As for me, I've been to this tiny island three times already. From the town of Huntington Beach, CA. in the O.C., on a clear day you can see this island off in the distance. My point of view, not much to do on this island, unless you like camping, fishing, Mtn. biking, or watersports! Mostly you'll see groups of Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts going there for a camping/group outings! Also keep in mind that the ferries dont offer 24hr transportion to the mainland, so stick with a schedule of events. In final, it's okay for a 1st timer to visit the island, but I rather visit the Hawaiian Islands more often!
