Catalina Island

I lost my first front tooth while playing in the water at Avalon Bay in 1961. I was there with my mom and my grandmother & we stayed 2 nights at one of the hotels up one of those narrow streets from the bay. I still remember exactly what souveniers I bought with my "rubber dollar"-- so called cuz my mom gave me ONE dollar that apparently stretched to accomodate several items that I treasured for years.
For some reason, Catalina Island is one of the most comfortable places I've ever been to-- its an energy-kinda thing. I've traveled about a little bit & some places have it & some places don't-- I think you only notice a "vibe" when you get to the first place that really feels "prickly" to ya-- anyway, Catalina feels like warm syrup. Love that island.
