MEMORY:

When I was a kid, my mom had issues w/ lunchboxes. I'm the youngest and none of the older kids had them. No matter how much I begged, Mom wasn't gonna budge. "You'll just lose it", she would say. Then my friend gave me her Bobby Sherman lunchbox and her sister gave me her plain red thermos. Bobby was cool, but not my first choice for a lunchbox. Anyway, I kept track of that thing for a whole year! Never lost it once! And then we came to CA to visit my brother here in Oakland. My mom and I went down to the store to get groceries and there it was; the biggest lunchbox display I had ever seen! It was a sight to behold! And there it was...a Bionic Woman lunchbox! I just had to have it! Surely she'd let me b/c she couldn't use that losing it arguement...I had proved her wrong on that one. I even had some money my brother gave me, so I thought I had it in the bag. But do you know I was STILL thwarted by Mom! "You already have a lunchbox, you don't need another one!" AARRGGHHH! This is probably the sole reason why I still love lunchboxes today, and still carry one during the summer to eat lunch w/ my day camp.
