PHOTO: Ready for my First Day of School First Day of SchoolThis pic is me on my very first day of school in Kindergarten back in 79 at Whitefield Elementary School. That morning, I was so excited when I saw the bus coming to pick us up. This time, I wasn't staying with Ma watching the bus pick up my sister. It was picking me up too, along with our neighbor who was starting her first day too. It was a whole new world. I loved it..... most of it..... Well, in Kindergarten, you have story time, the sandbox, blocks, art/coloring....you know. Fun Stuff. In the years to come, the first day of school were, well, not so exciting, lol. 3rd grade, I REALLY wasn't looking forward to it because the 3rd grade teacher was known to be abusive. Sure enough, I had my problems with her. I have a thread in Retrotalk about her entitled "Abusive Teachers" if you want more info there.
