Strawberry Shortcake

I remember never owning any of these dolls, but one day when I was around 7 years old, it was on "community day" and it was probably my favorite of all those years. These dolls always make me think about it:

Every year we had the coolest community days when I was a kid. In the morning it was a garage sale with face painting. In the afternoon it was hotdogs, hamburgers and donuts and activities in the park. One of the BEST activities we did was play with this HUGE parachute thing with the hole in the middle, and a bunch of kids held an end of it and we would all boost it up into the air and go underneath it really quick, sit down on the ground and be inside this gigantic colorful "dome". At night, we would have FIREWORKS! It was pretty amusing, because in this park we had four blue painted wooden benches where the BBQs were set up, and the garbage can I remember being from McDonalds set in the middle. A few minutes before the fireworks were going off, a bunch of my friends ran up to me and they had Strawberry Shortcake dolls. We played with them all over the benches and on the grass and they smelled so yummy. It was one of the most amazing times as a kid growing up.

So whenever I see anything Strawberry Shortcake, I definitely think of this memory and it always made me smile. I used to have a giant Strawberry Shortcake doll, but I sold her. I only own a calendar and a cute pink bag of her now, but that's alright by me.
