A few battles of bionic proportion can cause one to reflect on the important things in life – say raising a family, being a role model. And that’s precisely what the big hairy fella set out to do in Bigfoot and Wildboy, the story of man-beast and some forested foster care.

Deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest, an area apparently filled to the brim with big-footed creatures, the gentle giant and his primitive protégé lived together, Bigfoot acting as guardian and mentor to his feral foster son, Wildboy. Besides having to brave the elements of the great outdoors, they also had to contend with a number of humans who were less than friendly to the furry family. Luckily, the disheveled duo had an ally in their friend, Suzy - at least for the first season, then she was replaced by the equally-friendly Cindy.

Originally airing on Saturday mornings as part of The Krofft Supershow in 1978, the show would only last one more year and that season consisted entirely of reruns.

Bigfoot, Wildboy, we hardly knew ye but we were always pulling for you, hoping you would get a foothold among the competition. But obviously those were mighty shoes to fill.
