Release History:

9/10/66 - 9/6/69 NBC
For anyone with the ability to do basic math, there was one little problem with The Super Six – this superband of illustrious heroes only contained five members. This was the result of one of the main characters getting the boot before the show ever made it to the airwaves. Elevator Man, Captain Zammo, Granite Man, Super Scuba and Magnet Man all made the final cut, but Super Stretch was sent to the unemployment line.

Debuting on NBC in 1966, the quintet of crime-fighters got their work orders from a cantankerous dispatcher, who they worked for at Super Services Inc. Each member would then embark on their own adventurous mission, wielding their own unique talents and providing plenty of comical moments along the way.

Augmenting the lineup were two supporting characters – the guitar-wielding Super Bwoing, who, although he could use his instrument for air transportation, seemed to be called upon only as a last resort, due to his lazy, bumbling ways, and the Brothers Matzorily, a multicultural three-headed Siamese triplet, with one head being Jewish, the other being Irish, and the third, Chinese. If this all sounds somewhat politically incorrect, it probably was. By today’s standards, it would be downright cringe-worthy, but this was 1966 and such sensitivities weren’t the norm.

For all of their bizarre and crazy talents, The Super Six met one foe they couldn’t defeat, and he wasn’t even on the same network. Given a timeslot opposite everyone’s favorite rodent crimefighter in Mighty Mouse Playhouse, it was an obstacle even The Super Six couldn’t overcome and their adventures ended after three seasons, with all but the first consisting of reruns.
