All the Wuzzles were a mix of two different animals: there was Bubblelion (bumblebee/lion); Eleroo (elephant/kangaroo); Butterbear (butterfly/bear); Rhinokey (rhinoceros/monkey; Brat (boar/rat); and Flizard (frog/lizard), just to name a few. Let's hope that the Wuzzles evolved that way and there was no actual mating between the individual species.
The one identical characteristic of the Wuzzles was the pair of wings they all sported on their back. The merging of two things wasn't limited to the animals on the Isle of Wuz. The trees were mixes--like appleberries--and so were objects in Wuzzle households, like the telephonograph.
Disney had hoped to establish a successful Wuzzle franchise, including the series and toys but the adorable little freaks didn't find a wide audience. After 13 original episodes, The Wuzzles moved from CBS to reruns on the Disney Channel.
