Wolfman Jack, legendary DJ and all-around icon of cool, got his own animated TV show in 1984 on ABC's Saturday morning lineup. Relying mostly on Wolfman's fame and outrageous vocal antics, the series was also know as Wolf Rock Power Hour.

The DJ himself voiced his animated character and played mentor to three hip teens who put on a rock TV show. The show-within-a-show played live action music videos but all the other characters were cartoons. Wolfman Jack's posse consisted of Sarah, Sunny and Ricardo--and also featured a fast-talking parrot named Bopper. Bopper bopped, breakdanced and molted.

Wolfman was cool enough to relate to the kids (did we mention the breakdancing? they all did it) but Mr. Morris, the station manager, was just the stuffed shirt you'd expect in a position of authority. Of course, the Wolfman had attained his fame in the 50s and 60s by ignoring all conventions laid down by such stuffed shirts in the radio business and knew exactly how to deal with Mr. Morris.

The very short-lived show aired only seven episodes and then moved to syndication.
