DuckTales

OK, now here's where I came in to Disney TV Animation. In fact, the one Disney show that the Nostalgia Critic put on his Top 11 Nostalgic Cartoons video (and also the show that he says has the world's catchiest theme song) was probably what really got me fascinated with the classic Disney gang, given the short amount of time that passed between me being born and this show's premiere. As opposed to the previous two shows ("The Wuzzles" and "Gummi Bears") being original ideas, this one marked the first Disney show based on one of their established properties - in this case, the Uncle Scrooge comic book stories written by Carl Barks. Except here Donald Duck is off in the Navy and thus only makes a few guest spots in the first season. In the meantime, the show's writers sent Huey (in case you've never figured them out, he's the red-dressed nephew), Dewey (the blue one) and Louie (the green one) with Scrooge and had them interacting with brand new characters, most notably the somewhat clumsy pilot Launchpad McQuack and, in season 2, fast-counting accountant Fenton Crackshell, alias Gizmoduck. At an even 100 episodes, "DuckTales" holds the record for having the most episodes of Disney's animated TV series and, naturally, spawned a theatrical movie titled "Treasure of the Lost Lamp" (which, ironically, was a box office flop). I remember being so into "DuckTales" that my folks picked it as the theme for my second birthday party (we had Mickey Mouse for the first one). About two decades and three DVD sets later, I still love "DuckTales", and I find it hard to believe Disney doesn't seem to like it themselves anymore; the show's removal from Toon Disney was what made me stop watching the channel altogether. Given the adventure theme, "DuckTales" is actually one of several classic Disney shows that could easily fit on Disney XD, but for some reason, they're not putting it there (even though they somehow have no problem showing DC Comics-based cartoons and "Pinky and the Brain" despite the fact that they're Warner Bros. cartoons that should not in any way have association with Disney).
