Now, 12-year old Sara is ready to fight and gain back her rightful place, so Wildfire takes up shuttle duty again and takes the princess back to Dar-Shan. Sara's adoptive father, John, remained behind but his thoughts were always with his daughter.
Sara quickly finds friends and allies on Dar-Shan, like a young boy named Dorin who accompanies her on her adventures and a cowardly horse named Brutus. Alvinar, a sorcerer, also provides considerable help in the battle against Diabolyn and her inept toadie, Dweedle.
Every episode exposed new information about the history of Dar-Shan and the events that led to Sara's exile. One surprising twist revealed that Sara's adoptive father was her actual father, Prince Cavan, sent to Earth with his infant daughter for protection. John had no idea of his true identity and only Sara and Wildfire know the secret.
Wildfire aired on CBS for a single 13-episode season and little girls who often wished they were really princesses in possession of a magical pony couldn't be more pleased.
