Shenanigans was a game show for kids that started out on a local New York station and ended up on ABC in 1964. The game show was a kid-friendly version of an adult show called Video Village, which featured an innovative, life-size game board.

The concept of the show was simple as any regular board game. Contestants acted as their own game pieces on the giant board and advanced through spaces according the roll of dice. Once they landed on a space, the kids had to answer a question or perform a particular task to win the fabulous prizes that, coincidentally, hung above the giant game board.

The game was hosted by actor Stubby Kaye, veteran of musicals like Cat Ballou and Guys and Dolls. Assisting Stubby was announcer Kenny Williams who also served as the cop who occasionally popped up on the board and obstructed some of the players. Milton Bradley, the board game company, sponsored Shenanigans as well as Video Village.

The game show's premise was fun and exciting and audiences at home enjoyed the novelty of people moving around the toy-like environment of a board game. When Nickelodeon debuted many years later, it used many of the Shenanigans ideas for its own game shows.
