MEMORY:This was Heathcliff's first animation appearance in this Saturday-only ABC cartoon. The stories were a lot more wild than the weekday DIC Heathcliff series. Mel Blanc played many roles (Heathcliff, Spike the Bulldog, various other characters) along with June Foray and Henry Corden. Blanc received solo voice actor credit...usually all voice actor names were lumped together in one short listing in most tv cartoons. "Dingbat and the Creeps" didn't feature Heathcliff...Dingbat the vampire dog, friendly skeleton Sparerib, and cranky pumpkin head NoBody always tried to perform odd jobs in every show...usually with funny consequences. Reruns of "Heathcliff and Dingbat" (and later "Heathcliff and Marmaduke") were syndicated under "The Plastic Man Show" for weekday afternoons in the mid 1980s...sometimes in the same afternoon as DIC "Heathcliff" weekday show on different or the same channel.Gold Stars: 3 GOLD STARS: |
