Most of the shows involved were half-hour originals joined by filler segments such as HB-TV, which featured music videos of classic Hanna-Barbera cartoon clips. Some editor was working overtime to splice together these delightful, musical romps. At first the cartoon block was 90 minutes long but soon switched to a 2-hour format, following its successful ratings.
The cartoons in The Funtastic World of Hanna Barbera were many and varied. They included Young Robin Hood, Paddington Bear, Johnny Quest, The Adventures of Don Coyote and Sancho Panda, The Flintstone Kids and more. Three new shows also debuted in 1985 as part of the block: The Paw Paws, Yogi’s Treasure Hunt and Galtar and the Golden Lance.
As the years passed, more Hanna-Barbera shows joined the lineup, like 2 Stupid Dogs, Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventures, Snorks and The Pirates of Dark Water. The funtastic amalgam of cartoon goodness aired in syndication till 1994.
