Created by then-already mega-star Bill Cosby, The Cosby Show was not only one of the most popular sit-coms of all time, it also changed the way American TV audiences thought about African-Americans.

Centered around physician Cliff Huxtable and his lawyer wife Clair Huxtable, The Cosby Show was, above all else, a family show. Though some critics had problems with its unrealistic view of African American families, most hailed it as a rare positive look at an American family.

Cliff and Claire had to manage a busy household that included children Sondra, Denise, Theo, Vanessa, and of course Rudy. Not only was the writing top - notch, as was evident in the hysterical yet still grounded scenerios that were coooked up, but the show was also lauded for the realistic performances from the young stars.

The show lasted for an impressive eight years, showing America that it could be positive and funny at the same time.
