Joey played a 20-year-old loner and motorcycle racer named Joe Roman, who returned to the family abode after his father died in an auto accident - in the hopes of collecting his share of the family estate. But the only riches to be had was his father’s car customizing business. He decided to lend a hand to stepmom Claire, who was desperately trying to keep the family business alive while raising his two younger siblings, an impressionable imp named Andy and an older more rebellious brother, Matt, who was struggling to find his way as a teenager. He also struggled valiantly along the way to fend off his attraction to a beautiful female mechanic named Louise who also worked at the garage. And through all the trials and tribulations of helping his younger brothers grow up, Joey learns that he rather likes having a real family again.
To keep everyone together, however, the family would need to move a couple of times to various networks during the course of the show. The first season was broadcast on NBC in 1995, only to move to WB for the following season. In 2002, Brotherly Love would move into syndication on the ABC Family Network and The Disney Channel, where it would continue to run until 2006. But lovable Joey was already used to being a vagabond of sorts, and through all of the network changes, he managed to keep the family together. Teenage girls were forever grateful for his efforts.
