A perfect nugget of late ‘70’s youth culture, the hour-long CBS show, California Fever, told the story of Vince and Ross, two teenage friends who lived the laid back, Southern California lifestyle. Vince ran his own pirate radio station from the home of his friend Rick. Ross customized his own car, which he liked to call the “Grossmobile.” They were all buddies with Laurie too.
Starring teen idol Jimmy McNichol as Vince, these four friends lived lives that included roller skating, surfing, disco dancing, and customizing their cars. Unfortunately, the show never found an audience, and was cancelled in December of 1979 after less than three months.
