First appearing in a 1962 issue of Amazing Fantasy, Spider Man was introduced to television as a short run series on CBS in the spring of 1978. The TV show moved Peter from high school to college, where he was working as a photographer for the Daily Bugle. Peter kept his crime-fighting double life a secret from his boss, Bugle editor J. Jonah Jameson and his secretary Rita, but was always ready for action when trouble called. Between the fall of 1978 and the summer of 1979, seven episodes were aired as individual specials, and included a new character, photographer Julie Mason.
“The Chinese Web” was the last episode, broadcast on July 6, 1979. Since then, video and DVD releases of this series have become popular with collectors and Spidey fans.
