Based on the hit feature film, the TV series Fame focused on the lives of talented kids at a performing high school in New York. The show featured up and coming stars like Janet Jackson, Nia Peeples and Fran Drescher. Unfortunately, upstart Madonna didn’t make the audition.

In 1998, Fame L.A., a syndicated series, was introduced, following the same general idea, except this time in Los Angeles. The show was cancelled shortly after, but, at least for some of the Fame stars, you really will remember their names.
