Dinosaurs walk among us! And they’ve formed a boy band! It’s all true and you can see for yourselves in The Adventures of T-Rex. The show ran for only one season in syndication but it had a most imaginative premise among animated shows.

In a world of anthropomorphic dinosaurs, five brothers—Bernie, Bruno, Bubba, Buck, and Bugsy—were your average dino singing group, busy performing in front of sell-out crowds and living the high life of celebrities. Secretly, the group was also a crime fighting unit under the leadership of Professor Edison. Singing by day and battling evil by night, the five brothers matched wits with villains like Big Boss Graves and his nefarious crime syndicate, the Corporation. Aiding the dino heroes in battle were their special body armor suits and the Rexmobile, their vehicle of choice. Only Prof. Edison knew of the boys’ secret identities: their sister, Ginger, though part of the singing group, had no clue as to her brothers’ nocturnal excursions.

Another fun element of the series was that the members of T-Rex sounded just like recognizable celebrities. Not only did the dinosaurs talk but they also talked like Jack Benny, Art Carney, Jimmy Carter, Peter Falk and Jimmy Durante. After 52 episodes the show was canceled, leaving its fans pining for more Mesozoic-flavored adventures.
