Release History:

1987 - ? syndicated
In the 80s, Michael Douglas taught audiences of the film Wall Street that greed is good. And if it was good to be a materialistic adult, it was even more fun to be a filthy rich teenager. Such was the plight of these “poor” Beverly Hills Teens, with their maxed-out credit cards, luxurious limousines, and weekly capitalistic crusades, they lived a cartoon life of excess that would make Richie Rich blush.

The cast of animated characters was extensive – Lark, the tantalizing blond was the show’s star, along with her boyfriend, Troy. Bianca was the brat that competed for Troy’s attention, and Switchboard kept the gossip flowing. Also appearing were obnoxious Pierce Thordyke (with his sarcastic pocket computer, CAD,) die hard surfer Radley, southern girl Tara, African-American knockout Chanel, and Chester, the brain of the bunch. Bianca’s servant, Wilshire, a poodle named Fifi, and headbangers Jett and Gig rounded out the cast.

With their seemingly endless supply of moola, the group of terrifically wealthy teens embarked on weekly adventures filled with drama and extravagance that most viewers could only dream of.  Perhaps that’s why the show didn’t connect with its audience enough to last more than a single season. The formula would prove far more successful a few years later, however, with the weekly trials and tribulations faced by another group of wealthy teens on Beverly Hills 90210.
