Release History:

1998 - ? CBS
Anatole was based on the children’s book by Eve Titus about a French mouse who was a master cheese taster. Anatole wore a typical French red scarf and beret, and lived with his wife Doucette and their three sets of twins: Paul and Paulette, Claude and Claudette, and Georges and Georgette. Anatole was a cheese taster at Monsieur Duval’s cheese factory. M. Duval didn’t realize that Anatole was a mouse, as the rodent always left the factory before it opened, dodging Madame Duval’s evil cat Charlemange. The show also featured Anatole’s best friend Gaston, and Francois de Pamplemousse, the mouse village mayor.

As a liaison between the worlds of mice and humans, Anatole helped solved the problems of both, centering around shared virtures such as self-confidence, honestly, and communication.

This sweet and simple show was popular with younger viewers, and show became a mini-hit on CBS’ Saturday morning schedule.
