Release History:

Opposite this and opposite that,
An internal struggle for two-in-one brothers,
Scratching and biting and loving each other,
CatDog! CatDog! Nothing in the world like the little CatDog!”
Picture this, Oscar and Felix from The Odd Couple... as Siamese twins. Funny stuff, right? While it might not have been ready for primetime television, CatDog, the show about a conjoined cat and dog, exploded onto the cartoon scene on Nickelodeon in 1998.
The premise was that the two opposite shared a body. Their comic misadventures often revolved around their opposing desires. Hilarity ensues. Dog wants to run after the garbage truck; Cat wants to eat fine salmon. Dog likes to rock; Cat enjoys the sounds of Beethoven and Bach. Dog was child-like and optimistic; whereas Cat was worldly and suave. For better or for worse, and without much choice in the matter, the two of them were stuck together… literally.
When they could get it together and work as a team, the two proved to be nearly unstoppable, as they worked to outsmart the likes of Rancid Rabbit and the Greaser Gang. CatDog was often the target of teasing and cruelty, wherever they went, because of their strange condition. Luckily they had the support, though occasionally annoying, from friends like Winslow Oddfellow, the squirrelly (re: hyperactive) Eddie the Squirrel, and the ironically named Mr. Sunshine, who was anything but.
Whether they were facing classic sitcom situations, like having to divide everything in half after a fight, a la Lucy and Ricky, or the more outlandish situations that came their way, like finding out about their Uncle Horseduck, CatDog always figured out who his best friend was… himself.
