"Who loves orange soda? Kel loves orange soda!"
"Is it true?" "Mmm-hmm...I do, I do, I do...ooo!"

With a good friend at your side, there is nothing you can’t do. Of course, just because you “can,” doesn’t necessarily mean that you “should.” – a bit of advise that often escaped impulsive teen pals Kenan Rockmore and Kel Kimble in the popular Nickelodeon series, Kenan and Kel.

Debuting in 1996, Kenan and Kel was a show about two inseparable buddies living in the Chicago suburbs, who could usually be found "schemin' and dreamin'" their way into trouble - much to their parents frustration. Kenan, a grocery store employee, was generally the instigator and had a knack for devising elaborate schemes. Some of his more memorable ones included opening up an underage dance club – inside a grocery store, hiring imposter parents to stand in at a meeting with the school principal, and even climb the formidable Sears Tower.

Kel, for the most part was just an average teen, whose dimwitted persona contrasted his brainy parents - his father was a rocket scientist and mom, a brain surgeon. More than anything else in this world, Kel loved his orange soda. He was also a talented painter and even more talented at annoying Kenan’s father, Roger, who bore the brunt of numerous receding hairline jokes. But his downfall was that he was too easily persuaded to follow his buddy’s fanciful brainstorms and that generally meant plenty of trouble looming ahead. The two usually had relatively good intentions, however, and meant no harm. And the one thing they could always count on, through thick and thin, was each other’s friendship.

Teen comedians, Kenan Thompson and Kel Mitchell, became friends while both were performing on the Nickelodeon comedy series, All That. Possessing a great chemistry together and a shared talent for improvisational sketch comedy led to their pairing on Kenan and Kel – a series that would run for four complete seasons on Nickelodeon and lead to the duo pairing up for the 1997 feature film, Good Burger.
