Release History:
1987 - ? syndicated
In 1987 the Dinosaucers were the latest alien race to crash-land on Earth. After the Transformers, and then the GoBots, the Dinosaucers were a sillier version of the traditional action cartoon.
Back on their homeworld, Reptillion, intelligent dinosaurs ruled. The good guys were the Dinosaucers, led by the brave Allo and his friends Bonehead, Dimetro, Teryx, Tricero, Steggio, Bronto Thunder and Ichthyo. The evil dinosaurs were called the Tyrannos, and were overseen by Genghis Rex, a red T-rex. His crony Ankylo was always hanging around, along with other bad guys Quackpot, Terrible Dactyl, Styraco and Brachio.
Reptillion was near destruction after so many years of war, so the dinos moved their fight to a new battleground – Earth. The Dinosaucers made friends with a group of young earthlings, Paul, Sara, David and Ryan. They were each given magical rings by their new dinosaur friends and joined the fight by becoming “secret scouts.” Comic relief was provided by way of a race of fuzzy round aliens named Furballs that the Tyrannos were allergic to.
While not battling their enemies, the Dinosaucers learned about Earth culture, discovering things like television, baseball, and karate.
While maintaining a lighter tone than some of its competition, the dinosaurs still wore technologically advanced armor, brandished complex weapons, and traveled in ultra-modern vehicles. 65 episodes were shot resulting in one syndicated season, before the war was over and the show as off the air.
