Superman

Hanna-Barbera had animated "The Super Friends" series up to the 1984-1985 season and the rights had expired. Ruby-Spears picked up the rights to "Superman" for this series for the 1988-1989 season. The cartoons were nicely done with character designs by comic book artist Gil Kane and the John Williams 1978 "Superman" movie theme as the cartoon's theme song. The "Superman Family Album" at the end of the show had short humorous adventures with young Clark Kent's life in Smallville and his adjustment to having all those super powers.
Unfortunately, the ratings were not high enough to warrant a renewal for a second season.
