MEMORY:I saw"Howdy Doody"during it's last three years on Saturday mornings on NBC TV. But. I enjoyed watching the show and becoming involved in the antics of the puppets and the live characters. I also enjoyed the songs and the comedy that was performed on the show. I would have given anything to be in the studio audience("The Peanut Gallery")of the show. But? My parents never got me a ticket for the show. Damn It! I missed a chance to earn a visit to "Doodyville". I did meet"Buffalo Bob"Smith, "Clarabelle"(The Late Lew Anderson), "King Gus Gasbag"(Ed Alberian),"Pieere The Chief"(Dayton Allen),Cartoonist Milt Neil,"Sandy McTavish"(Allen Swift ..Mr.Swift went onto become the first sea captain host/performer of WPIX TV Ch.11 NYC's"Popeye Show),Producer Roger Muir and Director Bob Rippen. Talented people..who really knew how to create, produce and present a top quality kids tv show. Nostalgia TV. Gold Stars: 1 GOLD STARS:RELATED ITEMS: |
