Coca-Cola... Enjoy!
I miss the old Coke cans with the pull off tab!! The sound, the rush of effervescence escaping the can and the fizzy sound and the bubbles dispensing cola to the rim of the can which you slurped off!! Good Times!! I also had a Coca Cola goblet which I loved to drink Coke from with lots of crushed ice! It's the Real Thing!

Crayola Crayons (The Fluorescent Series)
Fluorescent Crayola Crayons were the best! They came in black paper with bright writing on them! My favorites were "Hot Red" and "Ultra Blue". These colors popped and seemed to glow!
Along with those bright colors, I also liked Burnt Sienna, now enjoying its retirement from the 64 pack. Goodbye Burnt Sienna...you made the greatest tree trunks!! I would like to think it is frolicking with the tan M&M that was also retired. I will miss you both!! Lol!

Spirograph
I posted a picture of a Spirograph example from the booklet of possibilities that you could create with Spirograph. I labored for over an hour trying to recreate this... I had the Spirograph stencil held in place by pins and I was careful to change pen color without messing up.... it was perfect except for one loop went wrong!! I loved Spirograph... Great fun and artful creativity without the need for lights and sound effects!!

Tang
Tang came in grape and orange... and in my group I was supposed to be nuts to prefer orange to grape...but truth be told... it was the orange I loved! I drank Tang a lot and also used to make Tang and Kool-Aid terrariums....layers of powdered drink mixes in a jar and a plastic animal inside. Sold them for 50 cents!

Can You Tell Me How to Get...How to Get to Sesame Street!
At 4 o'clock every afternoon in the 70s on Channel 8 (PBS) I would be glued to Sesame Street! I loved all the number counting sequences! The one pictured is from a series of Jazz counting which Grace Slick of Jefferson Airplane provided!
Cookie was my favorite monster! Ernie was the funniest! Only I and Big Bird could see Mr. Snuffaluffacus! Mr. Snuffy became the subject of my sleepwalking when totally asleep I would wander into my parents bedroom in the middle of the night inquring the whereabouts of Mr. Snuffaluffacus!! Thank goodness I don't sleepwalk anymore!
This review was brought to you by the letters: S (for Slick and Snuffy) and C (for Cookie, it's good enough for me!) and by the number 8!

The Sound of Music
For some reason when I watch this movie, even today... I always expect the Nuns to tap dance after singing "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria?".... maybe it's me. Anyway, great movie... words don't begin it. The songs, the puppets, the haughty Baroness, the Nazis, whistling for children, a married Nun...it's all great fun and I love this movie!! And the end when the Nuns remove the spark plugs from the Nazis' car... those scamps!

Drinking Fountains
We had two outside our lunchroom... one gave cool lifegiving water that would make anyone forget they just ate lunchroom pizza. The other gave bitter rusty water that no one used except for weirdos! I tried it once, yuck!

Tab
When I was young my parents didn't want me guzzling sweet sodas and kool-aid by the reservoir-full. The option was for me to drink Tab... the one calorie cola. Yuck it was really bad. I couldn't get used to it and I hated the commercials that purported Tab as being an elegant choice for drink and that the only thing with less calories was water. Ah well.... water was better! Sorry Tab!

7-Eleven
"Where are you going?" my Mom would ask. "Going to the store!" I would reply. Something about walking to the store by yourself was a very cool thing. You could loaf around the comic books, the penny candy, grab a soda and bag of chips and some Spree. Costs about 70 cents all together! Ah...7-11!

Spelling Tests and Bees
In the fourth grade reading class, something was going on... I wasn't really interested so I began as usual to doodle spaceships in my notebook. The teacher asked me to spell a few words which I did correctly. Suddenly she called my name along with another name and everyone clapped. I realized I was a finalist in the 4th Grade Spelling Bee! It was dead heat... any one's game. My opponent was a girl...she was smart. I was the underdog... the contender. And I won! I was given some booklets to study to bone up for the School Wide Spelling Bee!! Did I study it.... no. I was $^%&y and full of my own victory. When the day came I was first to spell a word....
"Abandon". A B B A N D O N, Abbandon.".
WRONG! It was horrible! I bombed out on the first word!! I resolved to be more studious and pay more attention after my spelling disaster!
