I wanted the best, I got the best!

The very FIRST album I ever bought with my own money (given to me by my parents) was "KISS Alive II". Man, that gatefold album sleeve was just incredible! After that I got "Alive!" and Ace Frehley's solo album because I thought he was the coolest member. I also remember seeing the original television broadcast of Kiss Meets the Phantom, a made for TV movie starring KISS. I never had the action figures but I did have a Colorforms set and an almost complete set of bubble gum cards. They were my favorite band all through my childhood and if there is one band that embodies the 70's, it's KISS.

Zoom

I watched ZOOM all the time in the late 70's, along with some Sesame Street and The Electric Company. Of these shows ZOOM always seemed to be more sophisticated somehow. The way the kids were barefoot and with those striped shirts made them look incredibly cool to my eyes back then. A DVD is available that is sadly very short, in spite of being a 2 DVD set. It consists of one retrospective with clips from various seasons and only 4 complete episodes from the series. Even so, I highly recommend it.

Into the Labyrinth

I was lucky enough to see this movie in the movie theater when it first came out and returned to see it again and again so many times that I just about memorized the dialogue! Of course, part of the reason was that I had a huge crush on Jennifer Connelly who played the lead role. In spite of being a musical and a children's film (with muppets no less) the movie had an underlying darkness that I just can't put my finger on. I remember when my young nieces saw it on DVD they said that parts of it were a little scary.
I of course not only own the DVD but payed a whopping 45 bucks to own the Collector's Edition that included some character sketch cards. This edition has been discontinued but a newer 2 disc edition has been published. One of the best fantasy films of the 80's. Recommended!
