1974
:  I am less than one year old

My Arrival into the World

I was born in 1974.

1979 Mikey
:  I am 5 years old

The Year of the Bigfoot

I have memories of Bigfoot and Wildboy. This awesome show became its own series in 1979 with twelve 30-minute episodes. I remember watching this. I loved this show. I remember how Bigfoot would jump in slow motion (similiar to The Six Million Dollar Man and The Bionic Woman when using their bionics) I may not remember much from this year, but I do remember this show. My Mom would also sit down with me and watch it sometimes.

1980 Mikey
:  I am 6 years old

I Love The 80's!!

I was five years old coming into this year and eventually turned six five months later. This was the year I started First Grade. 1980 was the beginning of the greatest generation of all time.

1981 Mikey
:  I am 7 years old

The 80's Ruled!!!

The 80's Ruled!!!!
Saturday Mornings were so awesome in the 80's. 1981 Saturday Morning cartoons consisted of Heathcliff, The Superfriends, Trolkins, Blackstar, The Smurfs, SHAZAM!, Goldie Gold and Action Jack, Laverne and Shirley, Richie, The Tarzan/Lone Ranger/Zorro Adventure Hour and my favorite Saturday Morning Cartoon at the time, Spider-man and his Amazing Friends. Spider-man and Friends were very cool. This was a terrific year to be a kid. Saturday Mornings at the time were outstanding, and they would only continue to get better. Other events include:

* The first He-Man action figure was released by Mattel in 1981.
* Pac-Man is introduced in the US and sparks a huge craze.
* Dynasty premiers in primetime hours and becomes a hit.
* The first DeLorean sports cars roll off the assembly line.

And saving the very best for last, my FAVORITE TV SHOW of all time premiered in this great year. THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO was the best TV Show ever.

Also, my favorite cartoon of all time made it's debut in this year. He-man and the Masters of the Universe was one of the most popular animated children's shows of the 1980s and has retained a heavy following to this day. This cartoon was entertaining and always had a lesson to be taught.

G. I. Joe also debuted with it's first five-part mini series on September 12, 1983. This cartoon was one of the greatest cartoons ever.

My second favorite show (after the Greatest American Hero) was The A-Team which made it's debut this year. B.A., Face, Murdock and Hannibal were very cool. I remember how excited I became on the day it was coming on. I always made sure to have all of my homework complete before I watched it. It had great action. Mr. T was my favorite member of The A-Team.

A cool Saturday Morning toon that debuted this year was The Littles. The theme song was unforgettable.

This was also the year A Christmas Story came out. I love this movie. "Ralphie, you'll shoot your eye out!"

1984 Mikey
:  I am 10 years old

The 80's were the Greatest!!

I remember this year. I was (and still am) a big wrestling fan. My favorite wrestler in the WWF (now WWE) at the time was Hulk Hogan. He was a great role model for kids. He always said to say your prayers, eat your vitamins and drink your milk. This was the year he defeated the Iron Sheik (1984) to secure the WWF Heavyweight Championship and quickly became the WWF's most popular athlete. He was known all throughout the world.

Other great events that happened in 84 were:

1. The Cosby show premiers.
2. Stonewashed jeans are introduced.
3. Run-D.M.C. are the first ever rap group to have an album certified gold.
4. Apple Computer releases the Macintosh personal computer.
5. Vanessa Williams becomes first African American Miss America

Saturday Morning Cartoons were awesome in the 80's. No Saturday Mornings nowdays will never match the great Saturday Morning Cartoons back in the great 80's. Back in the greatest generation of all time, I enjoyed very much waking up on Saturday Mornings. I couldn't wait!! A few Saturday PREMIERE Toons consisted of:

1. The Get Along Gang
2. Turbo Teen
3. Mighty Orbots
4. Superfriends: The Legendary Super Powers Show
5. Dragon's Lair
6. Dungeons and Dragons
7. Pole Position
8. Muppet Babies
9. Shirt Tales
10.Snorks
11.Saturday Supercade
12.Kidd Video

A great weekday cartoon that made it's debut this year was The Transformers. It was very cool when the Autobots fought the Decepticons. The way they transformed was awesome. I really liked the sound it made when either the Autobots or Decepticons transformed.

One TV Show that made it's debut this year was Small Wonder. I loved this show. The idea of having a kid robot as a daughter was awesome. I would never miss an episode. Some of the other popular shows of the 80's that debuted in 1985 were:

1. Growing Pains
2. Spenser for Hire
3. Mr. Belvedere
4. The Golden Girls
5. The Misfits of Science
6. MacGyver
7. Amazing Stories

Thudercats debuted this year on January 23rd. Thundercats, HOOOOOOOO!!!!

A great Saturday Morning Cartoon that debuted this year was The Wuzzles. Here in the land of wuz, where it's twice the fun and every single thing is really two in one, a little bit of this, a little bit of that...when you add it up you get a lot of laughs. The cartoon and theme song were very very good.

Also, the Great Movie of Back To The Future (which put Michael J. Fox on the map) came out this year.

Christmas time were especially awesome. They were so so so special. I truly miss the days where my brother and I would wake up at at 6:00am on Christmas morning. We would rush into my parents room to wake them, so we could go donwnstairs as a family to see what Santa had placed under the Christmas tree for us. My brother and I always received everything we wanted. I loved this time of year, especially in the 80's. I received a lot of toys this year for Christmas. My favorite would have to be my He-man and G. I. Joe action figures.

The Silverhawks were very awesome. They came out this year. They had wings of silver and nerves of steel. My favorite Silverhawk was the leader Quicksilver. It was a great show that involved a lot of action and always (as majority of the 80's toons did) had a lesson to be learned in the end. I really enjoyed watching the Silverhawks. The theme song was especially cool.

Another one of my favorites that debuted in 1986 was ALF. This was an 80's classic. ALF follows an amateur radio signal to Earth and crash-lands into the garage of the Tanners. The Masters of the Universe movie came out this year. I remember my Mom took me to see this. Although He-man and others were not dressed like their cartoon counterparts, it was till this day a great movie. Classic 80's Movie!!

A weekday show that I loved, (but because it came on in the morning when I was in school I very rarely got a chance to catch it) was The Bionic Six. "We are a family, I fight for them and they fight for me!" This was an awesome show!

The New Adventures of Mighty Mouse (which came on Saturday's) also came out this year. I loved this version of Mighty Mouse more so than the rest. It was very comical and included a lot of action as well. Other weekday cartoons and Saturday Morning Cartoons that debuted this year:
