BIO:
I was born in NYC back in the mid
1950's.
The time when TV was still in it's
golden days.
I was lucky enough to watch alot
of classic sit coms,westerns,game shows,
some comedy/variety shows and kids
tv shows.
More often than not..My parents took
my brothers and I to see the movies and
to the theater.
I enjoyed watching the performances
of Bob Holiday as"Superman"in "It's A
Bird,It's A Plane,It's Superman" at The Alvin
Theater(Now The Neil Simon Theater) on
Times Sq.in March,1966.
I also got to see Joel Grey in "George
M",Sam Levine in"The Impossible Years",
Jim Dale in"Barnum",William Daniels and
Howard Da Silva in"1776" and Ian Richardson,
George Rose,Robert Coote and Christine De
Andeas in the first Broadway Revival of"My Fair
Lady!".
Watching these plays,stage musicals,
movies like"Marty","The Music Man","My
Fair Lady","The Odd Couple" and watch
the kids tv shows, sit coms and comedy/
variety shows inspired me to become
a performer.
I did some performing in school
and in summer camp.
But?
It was not until after I graduated from
high school that I made my acting debut
with a small repetory theater co. in NYC.
It was in 1975 that I joined"The Great Salt
Of The Earth"Theater Co. and appeared in
the show "Pantaloon" a stage farce..
In which I played a pompus brittish
nobleman "Lord Marciano".
I did that show for a year and
I appeared in a drama titled
"Dover's Donkey" in which I
played the title role.
That show lasted two seasons.
"The Great Salt Of The Earth"
Theater went bankrupt in 1977
and I went into Summer Stock.
From 1981 to 1989..I performed
in many plays with The Newfoundland
Performing Arts Center's theater.
I also did two musicals"Oliver"
as "Mr.Bumble" and"The Music
Man" as"Marcellus Washburn".
From there,I tried my hand at
being a nightclub comedian and
imprestionist.
I was part of a street clown act
at NYC street festivals.
Until my partner got drunk and
I moved on.
I wrote,produced and performed
on many installments of my brother's
children's radio series"The Imagination
Parade".
I also wrote articles about the arts
and film, theater and tv revues for
small newspapers.
In 2003,a friend of mine
TV producer Burt DuBrow hired
me to play The bumbling tv reporter
on"Alf's Hit Talk Show".
We taped the pilot in November
of 2003 and the show aired a year
later.
We did six more shows..but
we were cancelled after those
seven show.
I've also contributed info to such books as
"Soupy Sez!:My Life & Zany Times!","Hi There! Boys &
Girls!","TV Party" and"Dummy Days!".
My hobbies are writting,swimming,
watching movies and tv shows,collecting
show biz memorbillia,playing baseball
and researching the history of the
entertainment industry.
