MEMORY:
The intro. of the new Batgirl was a big deal in 1967 (my birth year) she was aka "Barbara Gordon" Commissioner Gordon's daughter.
She was going to a Halloween party dressed as Batman and stopped a crime.

Neighborhood Park
This park was around the corner from my house in Memphis, TN
It was next to the school my sister went to.
It had a see-saws, huge slides and monkey bars, we also would fly all our Gayla kites here too.

MEMORY:
I remember loving kindergarten, I am still friends with my best friend I met in Kindergarten.
Mrs. Austin (she is standing behind me) was sooo nice she would pass out candy and we would do art projects all the time.
I lived down the street from my school and walked everyday.

Captain Kangaroo
I can remember watching him and wishing he was my Dad!
Captain Kangaroo and his cast of friends we grew up with: Mr. Green Jeans, Bunny Rabbit, and of course, Grandfather Clock. I remember three things about the show most vividly: the opening theme music, falling ping-pong balls brought on by Mr. Moose (MY FAVE!) and the wonderful friendly smile that Grandfather Clock always had.
Grandfather Clock could talk! He was a steady-head with a cheerful disposition who NEVER got angry...had a great laugh, beautiful blue eyes, and offered good advice for all the little boys and girls in TV land.
My love for grandfather clocks MUST have started then.

My first Concert
The biggest thing I remember is how much my Mom loved this guy, I was young so I didn't really get it.
I knew she had tons of his albums but, not until I went to this concert with her and my sister did I realize how crazy she was for him.
I have to admit even though the guy is from here (Memphis, TN my hometown) and is obiously idolized he does genuinely have a great voice.
I am to this day still proud to say this was my first concert....Rock On Elvis!!

MEMORY:
I grew up in Memphis, TN as I have metioned in previous memories and posts.
The weirdest thing for me that happened in this city was the death of Elvis.
This was a person I grew up hearing about everyday (my mom was a huge fan) because he lived here and at times I felt like they were discussing him as if he was the neighbor down the street.
I guess what I'm trying to say is this is bittersweet for me I remember this huge star living right here in my hometown and then one day he was just gone and the whole city just shut down to mourn him and I can remember watching the whole funeral live on T.V.
That was huge during the Summer of 1977!....I can remember everyone talking about it when school started back.

MEMORY:
I remember 1978 being a huge year for Disco and my parents loving this movie especially my mom she already loved The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb at that time and when this movie came out she went to see it several times with my dad.
I still have her album to this day in my collection, I can remember me and my brother and sister putting this soundtrack on the record player and pretending we were singing the songs.
"Burn Baby Burn...Disco Inferno"!!
