The teacher put a sticker on my test!
Posted: Thu Oct 26, 2006 12:23 pm Central Time

I was an eight year-old third grader in 1974 when I aced this spelling test.
The teacher put a sticker on my paper. That was the best.

i liked it when teachers gave out the scratch n' sniff stickers, those were the best. my 12 grade mexican american lit. teacher gave us stickers for completing our vocabulary homework, just to humor us. _________________ can't talk now, the ninjas are watching me think.

Wow. I was born a month and 19 days later.
When I get home from work I'll have to scan one of my spelling tests. We had these little blue books we took the tests in. No stickers, but smiley faces were drawn for 100% I'll have to go through my old papers and see if I have any left that have a sticker on them! I used to get them a lot (but not as much as my sister!)I saved a lot of old school papers. |

I preferred the shiny-gold-star variety, but I made do with the owls when they came my way.
And, darn you, Jupiter! Now I want to dig through my old school papers... but I won't be anywhere near them until Christmas. |

It was 32 years ago so my memory is a bit vague. |

Wow, you guys only had 14 spelling words in 3rd grade? We had 20! And unfortunately since I've moved so much, I don't have very many school papers left, maybe 3. Some of our teachers did the gold star thing, but most just drew a star or happy face on your tests. _________________ Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. |

Back in elementary school when I received a sticker on my spelling or math test I was on top of the world. I was so excited. I really could not wait to get home and show my Dad. My Mom would come and pick me up so she of course would be the first I show it to. When Dad got home later from work that day I would show it to him and they would tell me how proud of me they were. |

I use to get stickers on my homework envelope when we completed and assignment. I remember she gave out these yummy scented cinnamon ones.
In 6th grade the teacher use to tape candy to 100% tests, until somebody stole the candy so she had to put stickers to use it to redeem the candy. |

Everyone on RL BRACE YOURSELF!!!!!! TF not only saves NOTES from 1989 but he also has SPELLING TESTS from 1982 (Waits as half the RL community reaches for the Nitro) Yup...me and my 100 cats (I actually only have one) actually are CrAzY enough to save a spelling test from (not for the weak hearted)...SECOND GRADE!!!!!!
Ok, I didn't get a sticker, but I did get double smiley faces! It's all I could find...can you believe it? I have notes from Jr. High but NO spelling tests with a STICKER on them! My lunacy must be getting way better!
I feel I don't deserve the smiley face on the right...did I spell word #4 "nite?" isn't it supposed to be NIGHT??? And what's with the last word? Is that "lire" or a sloppy version on "line?" and my "fix" (# 9) looks like "tiy") Not to mention my spelling of "nine" (# 6) Looks like "hihe" |

You rock for saving all that stuff. I must give all the credit to my mother who saved all my stuff in a filing cabinet - she's one organized lady! |

Of course I'm ribbing you guys. I do the same thing with my kids. I've got tests and pictures that my daughter did in first grade (she's now in High School) stored in folders in a box with pictures, etc.
My young son's first folder was recently started.
Perhaps some day one of them will be posting the images to a similiar website. _________________ People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
