The status of television
Posted: Wed Jan 30, 2008 12:57 pm Central Time
I believe that television has reached its overall low. I barely watch any television anymore because all the shows are either too boring to be interesting, too rapid to keep up with, or too stupid to find interesting. Thank goodness for the release of shows to video or else I'd have nothing to watch altogether. |

I think a lot of people are tired of the way television is these days, but there are still some quality shows out there.... CSI, Law & Order, Smallville, How I Met Your Mother, Two And A Half Men, Family Guy, etc.... You just have to look for them, and give new shows a chance. _________________ www.hauntingheather.com

I don't like dramas. I prefer fantasies, science fiction, documentary, or action. Many of today's sitcoms are becoming rather idiotic. |

Turn off the tv.
Read a book. Get a hobby. Invest in a DVD/video library. Go out with friends. See movies. See a play.
Come back in the next television golden age. Simple solution, really. _________________ "Over one thousand served" |

When people like what's on tv...most of the time.
or
when the writer's strike is over. _________________ "Over one thousand served" |

Amen, brother! It's like in the 90s everything started going downhill and reached the lowest common denominator. I don't even bother scouting around trying to find a decent sitcom anymore. I'm usually watching DVDs or some cable channel showing reruns when I turn on the TV. |

You said it. My DVD collection just continues to grow as more of the older/better shows get released. These days I still have digital cable with however many hundred channels and I stil surf and surf and usually come up with nothing. |

The writers were part of the problem before the strike. |

The trouble is yes tv sucks,i can't say comcast, direct Tv or dishnetwork any better. All 3 just charges too much,&offer close to no decent channels to the consumer out their!.I knew some will think i'm a ass for saying this, but its the truth. They don't show any good shows today,it all reality type show&It seems ever channel under the sun has a reality show, even foodnetwork.Hell tvland stop being good years ago,now they added Just Shoot Me to their line up,isn't that too recent of a show .I just buy dvds, because i given up on tv,I rember every halloween i would look forward to what tv station was offer what good halloween picks that year, now,no one shows hardly any halloween type movies&shows any more, the fun is gone, like grundge! |
